Den skotske ale er ifølge traditionen mere maltet
og mindre humlet end den engelske bitter.
Aroma: Svag til middel maltaroma, med karakter
af kiks, brød og karamel. Fraværende til svag
humlearoma. Fraværende til svagt niveau af
frugtestere og diacetyl. DMS må ikke forekomme.
Udseende: Ravfarvet til brun. Svag til kraftigt
skum. Klar til let tåget.
Smag: Svag til middel maltsmag og maltsødme,
med karakter af kiks, brød eller karamel. Svag
humlebitterhed. En svag ristet karakter kan
bidrage til en tør afslutning.
Krop: Let til medium krop. Lav til medium
karbonering.

Første bryg med træ ske.
Dette bryg gik også helt galt. Det brændte på så Danbrygger slukkede 3 gange. Vi måtte skille det hele ad og rense varmelegmet alle 3 gange. Vi har ingen ide om den første del af mæsken. Vi mæskede derefter 50 minutter ved 68 grader.
Det må enten være det tidlige malt ihældning eller FOR grundig omrrøring, der giver problemet med at det brænder på. Umiddelbart ser det ud til at være omrøringen. Hvis vi lader være med at røre til bunds, stopper problemet.
