Lyse stærke belgiske ales kommer ud af 2
historiske traditioner: munkenes tripel og de
Duvel-inspirerede gyldne ales. I praksis er der
mange overlap i øllenes karakter.
Aroma: Svag til middel maltaroma, med karakter
af karamel og brødskorpe. Fraværende til svag
humlearoma, med karakter af europæisk
humletyper. Middel til kraftigt niveau af
frugtestere, som kan have karakter af banan,
ananas, citrus, bobletyggegummi med mere.
Middel til kraftigt niveau af fenoler, som kan være
krydrede (f.eks. nellike, peber, koriander og
kardemomme), marcipanagtige, syrlige med mere.
Svagt til middel niveau af alkohol, som ikke må
virke sprittet. DMS og diacetyl må ikke
forekomme.
Udseende: Halmgul til ravfarvet. Kraftigt skum.
Klar til medium tåget.
Smag: Svag til middel, sødlig maltsmag, med
karakter af karamel og brødskorpe. Svag til middel
humlesmag og bitterhed. Kendetegnet ved høj
kompleksitet og en tør afslutning. Svag til kraftig,
varmende alkohol.
Krop: Let til medium krop. Kraftig karbonering.

Features: A pale Belgian caramel-style malt. High temperature of germination.
Taste development at up to 220°C, intense aroma.
Characteristics: Château Cara Blond® imparts a mild caramel-sweet aroma adding
golden colour to beer. A distinguishing characteristic of all caramel malts is
glassiness. This glassy endosperm creates the desirable non-fermentable
components that give true caramel malt the ability to contribute mouthfeel, head,
head retention, and extended beer stability.
