Sample Brew-In-A-Bag equipment profile set up for a 15 Gal/50 litre brew pot (diameter of 40cm or 16 inches) using a polyester grain bag to hold the grain. This profile should be used with the BIAB mash profiles available in the BeerSmith mash profiles area. The above assumes loose pellet hops and only clear, chilled wort transferred from the kettle using no trub management techniques. Altbier er en overgæret, koldt lagret og traditionel tysk øltype fra Düsseldorf og omegn. Malten er oftest tyske basismalte, især pilsnermalt og münchnermalt. Der kan være små tilsætninger af karamelmalte eller ristede malte, men de må ikke dominere øllet. Humlen er traditionelt spalt-humle, men andre kontinentale humletyper kan også anvendes.
Aroma: Svag til middel maltaroma med karakter af brød, karamel og evt. lys chokolade. Svag til middel mellemeuropæisk humlearoma. Fraværende til svagt niveau af frugtestere. DMS og diacetyl må ikke forekomme. Udseende: Kobberfarvet til mørk kobberfarvet. Medium til kraftigt skum. Klar til let tåget. Smag: Middel til kraftig maltsmag med karakter af brød, karamel og evt. lys chokolade. Middel humlesmag og -bitterhed. Krop: Medium krop. Medium til kraftig karbonering.

12/9 morgen omrørt 2L flyttet fra bunde til top. Ny OG målt (gammel OG 1041, ny OG 1049). Gær tilst ved 18 grader.
Brygget havde fået ilt i Maltmaster 30L konisk og måtte kasseres. Der var tydelig acetone i duft og smag., :-(
